When those are handled by different trades on different days, the result is the cabinet that will not sit flat against the wall because a drain is in the way, or the vanity that had to be cut out at the back on site.
We do both. That means the rough-in gets set for the cabinets you actually chose, and if something needs moving, the person who can move it is already there.

Why the sink base fails first
If you are replacing one cabinet in a house, it is almost always the kitchen sink base or a bathroom vanity, and it is almost always because of water.
Particleboard and MDF cabinet floors absorb water and never recover. A slow drip from a supply connection, an angle stop weeping, a failed disposal gasket or a drain slip joint that was never quite tight will destroy a cabinet floor over months while looking like nothing more than a damp patch.
When we replace one, we deal with the cause rather than just the cabinet: check and replace the angle stops with quarter-turn valves, replace tired supply connectors, reseat the drain assembly properly, and check the disposal mounting and the dishwasher connection.
It is also the right moment to add a leak sensor under the sink. They cost very little, and in a cabinet nobody looks inside more than twice a year they turn a destroyed cabinet floor into a text message.
Installation is about walls, not cabinets
Cabinets are square. Houses are not, and stucco-over-frame construction in this region is no exception.
A proper installation starts with finding the high point of the floor and establishing a level line from it, then locating and marking studs, then hanging wall cabinets before base cabinets so there is room to work. Cabinets get shimmed level and plumb, joined to each other before they are fastened to the wall, and scribed where they meet out-of-square walls so the filler strips do not show a tapering gap.
Doors and drawers get adjusted at the end — modern European hinges adjust in three directions, and a run of cabinets with consistent reveals is the difference between a professional job and an obviously amateur one.
Countertop support matters too. Quartz and granite need proper support at overhangs and dishwasher openings, and that has to be planned during cabinet installation rather than discovered on template day.

- Out-of-square walls, uneven floors and damaged substrate all add scribing, shimming and repair time.
- Removal and disposal
- Old cabinets out and hauled away, including water-damaged units that come apart rather than lift out.
- Refacing versus replacing
- Refacing sound boxes costs meaningfully less than new cabinetry and is a genuinely good option on solid older units.
